Dear Minister, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Prague Letňany on this occassion of the ceremonial opening of Future Soldier 2012.

As a the General Manager of this specialised, unique and growing international event, allow me to extend my gratitude and say that I am ineffably priviledged that you have found time in your schedules and decided to visit and participate in the program of the Future Soldier 2012, on the Future of Cyber Conference and appendant activities and demonstrations.

It is a very pleasant surprise and truth be told, I am exceedingly glad that we have gathered such a large and diverse group of VIP visitors, exhibitors, journalists representing many different countries, in order to share exhibits and a common interest in defense and security. Many thanks for this belong to you. For us, as organizers, it means more and more responsibility and hard work for the next two years ahead and we gladly commit ourselves to meet this reality and challenge.

This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Future Soldier Project which has occupied a central place in the international exhibition calendar. Please know how pleased and honoured I am for this opportunity to address you at this event, the the theme of which are Advanced Technologies in Defence and Security and Cyber Defence.

The project Future Soldier is mainly designed to provides a platforms to discuss and debate the current issues, requirements and developments in military and security domain. As always, our goal is to bring together global senior military, security and industry speakers from around the world, as well as provide ample networking opportunities and tailor-made approach to all who attend.

From the initial conception of the Future Soldier Project we have strived toward our goal make you, the exhibitors, visible worldwide, respond to your requirements, wishes, expectations and accommodate your proposals and recommendation, and therefore, we appreciate and ask for your opinions and feedback.

Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to take this oportunity to convey my warm gratitude to the Minister of Defence Alexander VONDRA, Chief of the General Staff General Petr PAVEL, Assistent NATO Secretary General Richard FROH, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation General Mieczyslaw BIENIEK, Prague Castle Guard, ACFEA, Military History Institute, University of Defence Brno, Czech Chamber of Commerce, Defence and Security Industry Association and Association of Guns and Ammunition Manufactures for their auspices, support and professional involment and engagement.

Also our respectful acknowledgement goes to the main partners of the Future Soldier 2012, namely, the companies Česká Zbrojovka Uherský Brod, LOM Praha, and other sponsors and supportes.

A hearty welcome also goes out to the General Partner of the Conference “Future of Cyber”, company Deloitte. We also welcome Media Partners - European Military Press Association, Monch Publishing Group, MS Line, Homeland Security and Komando. I have to give a special recognition to all the members of Future Soldier preparation committee under the leadership of Czech National Armaments Office representatives.

Summing up, Today, more than ever, we are aware that for cooperation in the field of defence and security to be successful, it must be mutually beneficial for all players involved.

I do believe that the basic precondition for successful international defence and security cooperation is a functioning defence and security market, based on efficient mutual cooperation at all levels and in all ways between security customers and providers. And thus, we want to support and participate in this mutual cooperation because we are living in a new global age, in which interdependency and cooperation is a must. Participation in joint armaments projects offers the sharing of manufacturing processes and know-how through direct involvement in production, as well as research and development processes and enables access to global leading technologies.

In conclusion, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Future Soldier 2012, is a brilliant chance to meet face to face with the security policy decision makers, high ranking persons, generals, senior military officials, military experts, chiefs of procurements, defence and security industry representatives, businessmen, sellers, buyers and high military representatives from NATO and its agencies and centers of exellencies and also representatives from the European Union and European Defence Agency.

Allow me to repeat once again my appreciation and thanks to the Minister of Defence Alexandr Vondra and Chief of General Staff Petr Pavel and also to all Ministry of Defence and General Staff representatives for their professional involvement, engagement and excellent support given to the Future Soldier 2012 exhibition.

Finally, I wish for you to enjoy the program of the exhibition Future Soldier 2012, enjoy the conference, and of course enjoy your stay in the Czech Republic and the beauty of Golden Prague.
